Das funktional und technisch nicht mehr zeitgemäße Gemeindezentrum in Vaterstetten wurde durch eine großzügige und helle Begegnungsstätte für Kinder und Familien ersetzt. Da der Platz auf dem Grundstück recht begrenzt ist, wurden die verschiedenen Funktionsbereiche als eigenständige Einheiten übereinander gestapelt: eine neue Kinderkrippe (zwei Gruppen von 0 - 3 Jahren) und ein Kindergarten (drei Gruppen von 3 - 6 Jahren) im Erdgeschoss, ein Hort (zwei Gruppen von 6 - 10 Jahren) im ersten Stock.
Den Raum im Obergeschoss unter der Stahlskelettdachkonstruktion, die sich über die gesamte Gebäudebreite erstreckt, nimmt der Gemeindesaal mit eigenem Eingangsbereich, Küche und Nebenräumen ein. Aufgrund der asymmetrischen Dachform sind zwei Drittel der Dachfläche nach Süden ausgerichtet. Auf ihr wurden 315 qm Photovoltaikmodule installiert, die integraler Bestandteil des ausgeklügelten und innovativen Energiekonzeptes sind.

Die Funktionsräume und der Mehrzweckraum mit separatem Eingang sind nach Norden zum vorgelagerten Kirchplatz orientiert; die Gruppenräume sind nach Süden ausgerichtet und öffnen sich zum Außenraum hin. Der Bereich zwischen diesen beiden Funktionszonen ist großzügig und kommunikativ, die angenehme Atmosphäre wurde durch die farbliche Gestaltung erreicht.

Die einzelnen Ebenen sind durch eine zylindrische Treppe miteinander verbunden. Eine Besonderheit innerhalb dieser vertikalen Erschließung ist die vom Münchner Künstler Stefan Moritz Becker gestaltete Lichtinstallation.  

Das Kinder- und Familienzentrum mit dem neu gestalteten Kirchplatz ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil des kulturellen und sozialen Lebens in Vaterstetten und ein Ort für engagierte, zeitgemäße Gemeindearbeit.


No longer suiting the needs in terms of functional aspects and technical equipment, the church centre in Vaterstetten has been replaced by a spacious and light meeting place for children and families. Since the space on the plot is fairly limited, the various functional areas have been stacked on top of each other as singular independent units: a new crèche (two groups of 0 – 3 year olds) and a kindergarten (three groups of 3 – 6 year olds) on the ground floor, an after school centre (two groups of 6 – 10 year olds) on the first floor.
The space on the top floor under the steel frame roof construction which spans across the full width of the building is taken up by the church hall with its own entrance area, kitchen and ancillary rooms. Due to the asymmetric shaped roof, two thirds of the roof area face south. It has been used to install 315 sqm of photovoltaic modules, which are an integral part of the sophisticated and innovative energy concept.

The functional rooms and the multi-purpose room with its own separate entrance are oriented north facing the church square in front of the building; the group rooms face south and open out into the exterior space. The area between these two functional zones is generous and communicative, the pleasant atmosphere has been achieved through the colourful design.

The individual levels are linked by a cylindrical staircase. The light installation designed by Munich-based artist Stefan Moritz Becker is a special feature within this vertical access route.  

The centre for children and families with the newly laid out church square is an important component of the cultural and social life in Vaterstetten and a place for dedicated, contemporary community work.
