Das auf Einfachheit zielende Konzept traf sich hier geradezu ideal mit schwäbischer Sparsamkeit. Das reicht von der schlichten, wiewohl raffinierten Form über den Materialkanon – Sichtbeton, Aluminium, Glas – bis zur Farbwahl, die mit zwei Grautönen auskommt. Dass man sich an die in Stuttgart vereinzelt noch präsente Bürohausmoderne der Sechziger erinnert fühlt, kommt nicht von ungefähr. Mies van der Rohe und Le Corbusier, das sind die Bezugsgrößen der Architekten. Und so erwidern sie die Grüße der Pioniere vom Weißenhof im Tal mit einem Salut an deren späte Jahre.


Overall, the concept strives for simplicity, and thus perfectly fits the thrifty, Swabian spirit. This applies not just to the building’s simple, yet sophisticated form, but also to the chosen materials – exposed concrete, aluminium, glass – and to the choice of colours, which were reduced to two shades of grey. It is no coincidence that one feels reminded of the “Bürohausmoderne”, the 1960s-style office building architecture, some examples of which can still be seen in Stuttgart. Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier are the points of reference for the architects of bogevischs buero. And so they respond to the challenging presence of the historic Weißenhof area on the opposite hill with a salute from the valley to their iconic forerunners’ later years.
